Our apartment is off to the back of a hotel in the small village of Blockley which is in the middle of the rural Cotswolds. Behind us is the church where they film Father Brown. It was built 1180 (side view above).

Between us and the church is the cemetery. Many graves had dates going back hundreds of years.

The church (front view) looked much more ominous at night. We could not figure out why an eerie green light was shining through the steeple. Later, when it was too late, we would understand.

We decided to take an evening stroll through the graveyard.

The villagers warned us that it was unwise to enter an 800 year old graveyeard after dark. Unfortunately, we didn't listen.
